The Burns in ICU course is suitable for the purposes of training and assessment for the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand. The following course is intended as a basic introduction to the subject and does not replace wider reading and experiential learning. 

This online course will:

• describe pathophysiology of a burn injury
  
• outline differences between assessment of an adult burn and a paediatric burn
  
• detail the tissue reactions after burn injury
  
• outline considerations for fluid resuscitation of burns
  
• describe management approaches for burn patients.
